On 8 September 2025, the Civic AF* project will open its doors to young people across the Nordic and Baltic countries, Ukraine, and Belarus. From that date, applications will be welcomed for a new programme that brings together resilience, creativity, and community spirit.
The programme is open to anyone aged 18 to 25 who is curious to learn and connect with others. It begins with a 5-day online stage, open to up to 300 participants. This part of the journey is about sharing tools for well-being, learning how to navigate information, and starting to shape new ideas together. From this group, 20 of the most motivated participants will be invited to Latvia for a 5-day residency at Lūznava Manor and guesthouse Svilpaunieki. The residency will be a chance to dive deeper into storytelling, activism, and creative collaboration, ending with a celebration of everything that has been created together.
Applications close on 10 October 2025. Participation is free, with accommodation, meals, and activities covered during the residency. Limited travel support may also be available for those who need it. Civic AF* is organised by the Royal Danish Embassy in Latvia and the Danish Cultural Institute in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, in partnership with the Embassy of Sweden in Latvia, Daugavpils University, Riga Stradins University, the Latvian Academy of Culture, and Ad Astra Social Impact Studio. The project is supported by the Nordic Council of Ministers.
Civic AF* is about helping young people to find their voices, build connections, and imagine a future that feels possible and worth striving for.
